Protective Services Officer (By law Enforcement)

Description:

The Town of Beaurivage is accepting applications for an experienced Bylaw Enforcement Officer. The successful candidate will be under the authority of the Director of Protective Services, from which he or she receives the main instructions pertaining to their duties. Protective Services Officers carry out a wide variety of tasking including but not limited to, investigation and enforcement of all municipal bylaws, issuing tickets, attending court and working with other agencies that operate within our jurisdiction to enhance public safety within the municipality.

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; a diploma of at least one year in law enforcement, corrections, or related training.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a law enforcement or related position.
  • Standard first Aid Class C.
  • Intermediate or Emergency First Aid and CPR C with AED.
  • Bylaw Officer Certification Course
  • Demonstrated experience with Dangerous and Unsightly Premises files.

Operational Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must successfully complete a CPIC vulnerable sector check
  • Possess a class 5 New Brunswick drivers licence
  • Be certified or be willing to obtain a Medical First Responder certification
  • Be certified or be willing to obtain certifications up to ICS-200
  • Have current Tactical handcuffing and oleoresin capsicum certifications.

Salary and benefits:

Salary according to the existing salary scale. Compensation is complemented by a range of benefits. This is a permanent full time position.

Public Works Operator – Town of Beaurivage

The Municipality of Beaurivage is currently accepting applications for the position of Public Works Operator. This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and operation of municipal infrastructure including water and wastewater systems, buildings, and other public assets.

This position requires a motivated individual who enjoys working outdoors and contributing to the well-being of the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on municipal roads, sidewalks, and infrastructure
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of municipal water and wastewater systems
  • Operate and maintain public works equipment such as trucks, and other machinery
  • Perform snow removal, sanding, and salting operations during winter months
  • Conduct general maintenance of municipal facilities and public spaces
  • Respond to service calls and emergencies as required
  • Follow all safety procedures and municipal policies

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 or higher would be considered an asset)
  • Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset
  • Water and Wastewater Operator Level I certification would be considered a strong asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts when required

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
  • Knowledge of municipal public works operations is an asset
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that may require overtime, standby duty, and participation in winter maintenance operations.

Receptionist – Imperial Kent North Centre

Part-time

The Municipality of Beaurivage is currently accepting applications for the receptionist position at the Imperial Kent North Centre.

Main Responsibilities

  • Handle reservations and all other tasks related to the Imperial Kent North Centre and its members;
  • Greet IKNC clients in a courteous and professional manner;
  • Direct clients to the department best suited to address their needs;
  • Answer the phone, take messages, or transfer calls to the appropriate person;
  • Commit to keeping all information received confidential;
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Students and/or adults
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed
