The Municipality of Beaurivage is currently accepting applications for the position of Public Works Operator. This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and operation of municipal infrastructure including water and wastewater systems, buildings, and other public assets.
This position requires a motivated individual who enjoys working outdoors and contributing to the well-being of the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on municipal roads, sidewalks, and infrastructure
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of municipal water and wastewater systems
- Operate and maintain public works equipment such as trucks, and other machinery
- Perform snow removal, sanding, and salting operations during winter months
- Conduct general maintenance of municipal facilities and public spaces
- Respond to service calls and emergencies as required
- Follow all safety procedures and municipal policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 or higher would be considered an asset)
- Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset
- Water and Wastewater Operator Level I certification would be considered a strong asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts when required
Skills and Abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
- Knowledge of municipal public works operations is an asset
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position that may require overtime, standby duty, and participation in winter maintenance operations.
